The Grosvenor Casino Sheffield Knights are delighted to announce the appointment of David Grant as the new Head Coach with immediate effect.
David takes over the role after treble winning coach Daniel Plant announced his decision to step down and focus on media work at the end of the season.
This appointment signals the second spell as Head Coach for Grant who has been at the club since its inception as the Sheffield Storm.
David is looking forward to getting stuck into the role:
“I’m absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of head coach once again, it’s an exciting time to be involved with the club, as it’s heading in the right direction both on and off the rink.
“The first team will want to show that their good enough to stay in Division one, and compete with the very best within our conference, but also at national tournaments, and I’m confident that we can apply ourselves to this challenge and give ourselves the best opportunity to succeed over the coming season”
While the club experienced great success over the season, David has already identified areas for improvement:
“If we’re honest with ourselves, not qualifying for the National finals was disappointing, and we need to look at how we go about changing that and give ourselves the best chance of getting back to the national finals. That is the level that we all want to be at on a regular basis and next season we start to rectify that.”
David will start his role of head coach immediately and will shortly make announcements regarding his coaching team.
All at the Sheffield Knights would like to wish David the very best for the upcoming season.
