David Stafford Memorial Trophy 2018
August 19, 2018
The Sheffield Knights are delighted to announce the David Stafford Memorial Trophy will be taking place on the 1st December at Skate Central, Sheffield from 9:45am. The event will see players from around the Ball Hockey UK community come together and raise money for a worthwhile cause, whilst celebrating the life of David Stafford.
In honour of David’s love of Rugby, we are returning the home nations competition to the rink, and will see an England Select, Ireland Select, Scotland Select and a Wales Select team take part in the event. Select is the optimum word as nationality is not a requirement to play on any of the four teams, as once registration is complete, a live draft will be held to decide which team the players will be representing.
Once again, the event will be raising money for the British Heart Foundation and we will be asking all participants to raise a minimum of £40 towards this charity. For this we will be asking players to set up a JustGiving page to achieve this.
If you would like to play in the event, then please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with your name/club/playing position. Once selection is confirmed, you will receive further information on how to raise the minimum amount required as well as how to pay the registration fee of £40 for which you’ll receive your jersey that you’ll wear during the tournament. We are opening registration today, until 6PM 14th September, so get your registration in early to give yourself to make sure you get your spot in this years Memorial Trophy.
Last year’s event was a special day, and we’re hoping for another good day of Ball Hockey remembering a very good friend of the Knights, and Ball Hockey in this country.
